About Us

Our Mission

Wildflower Windmills Foundation exists to support autistic children and their families by providing sensory item grants that improve regulation, comfort, and quality of life. We believe that access to the right sensory tools—at the right time—can make a meaningful difference in a child’s daily experience, and that families should not face unnecessary financial or administrative barriers in finding what works for their child.

Our Story

Wildflower Windmills Foundation was founded by the parents of an autistic child who experienced firsthand the powerful impact that appropriate sensory supports can have on a child’s ability to regulate, participate, and feel safe in the world. Like many families, the Founder learned that identifying effective sensory tools is often a process of trial and error. What helps one child may not help another—and discovering the right supports can require trying multiple items, many of which can be expensive and not covered by insurance. For families already navigating therapies, appointments, and daily challenges, this financial burden can be overwhelming. Wildflower Windmills Foundation was created in response to this gap. Our work is rooted in the belief that families should have the opportunity to explore sensory supports without financial strain, and that children deserve access to tools that support their unique sensory needs with dignity and respect.
